Yes. You CAN be positive!

Smiley NEW006266 display Yes. You CAN be positive!I recently attended a seminar titled “NO EXCUSES”  where there were many 6 and 7 figure earners that shared some of their secrets. Although all of them had differently opinions on many subjects, all of them had common themes and I’d like to share them with you this week. #1 is always be positive and excited. The word that comes to mind is enthusiasm. I was told a story once that said anyone can be positive for a few days, some can be positive for a few months, and winners stay positive how ever long it takes to succeed. I’d like to give you a tip on this. If you are thinking to yourself, “I can’t be positive. I’m broke (or my relationships are terrible or whatever).” Just think about the people that didn’t get up this morning. They’d love to be in your shoes. One last thing, I heard a quote that I liked recently. It said, Life doesn’t have a remote, so get up and do something about it.”  Make a choice to be positive and make a difference.

GOALS challenge – Day Five

Today concludes our discussion on achieving your goals. To recap, you should get your goals written down on paper, identify the time frame in which you want to achieve them and finally break your goal down into small task that you plan for each day or week. One last tip on goals, as you start to achieve your goals, make sure you don’t focus on just money goals. Also, set goals that deal with family, relationships, and spiritual as well. If you missed any of the thoughts this week, go to my website at stulynn.com and I have them posted for you to review. Also, if you find any of these tips useful, go to my stulynn.com and like my facebook page on the top right. GOALS challenge – Day Four

We are continuing our discussion on how to achieve your goals. If you’ve been following this week, you should have at least 50 goals and a 1,2,5, or 10 year time frame beside each of them. That alone will put you on a path that only 2% of the population is on. This next step is one that can truly take you to the top. First of all, always have your goals with you in a planner, on your computer, in your office, etc. etc. Visit your goals weekly if not daily, and transfer your goals to your task list. For example, let’s say you want to learn to play the piano. On the first week, you may have 15 minutes for researching some piano instructors. The next week you should block out time to call and interview them. After that block out time for the lessons and then some practice. Once you write the goal down and then plan on how to achieve it, your subconscious mind responds to it the same way you write a check for your mortgage or any of the other mundane things you do day-to-day.

GOALS challenge – Day Three

GOAL 300x225 GOALS challenge Day ThreeThis week we are talking about goals. Yesterday I had you write down at least 50 things you wanted to achieve in your lifetime.  For those of you who followed directions, congratulations! Now take that list and beside each goal write down a 1,2,5, or 10.  The one stands for 1 year, 2 for 2 years, 5 for 5 years and 10 for 10 years. If you want a little grace and you think some of your goals will take longer, write 20 for 20 years. Spend some time thinking about this. You need to have some in each category. One of my 1 year goals was to take my dad to the NFL hall of fame in Ohio. After I made that goal, within months an engineering conference came up in Ohio. I flew my dad up to Ohio on the last day of the conference and we went to the Hall of Fame. I actually planned the trip before I realized I was going to take my dad to the hall of Hall of Fame. That’s the power of written goals.

GOALS challenge – Day Two

This week we are talking about goals. Yesterday I ask you to answer a few questions for me. This biggest one was “If money wasn’t an issue and you couldn’t fail what would you do?“ Grab a piece of paper and write down all the things you would like to do. Let your imagination run wild. When I coach people to do this, the common response is “I don’t think I could ever do this or that”. Don’t limit yourself to your old way of thinking. Just write things down. There is power in having a written list of goals. I can guarantee you one thing, if you don’t set any goals or write them down, you won’t achieve them anyway.  Therefore, what do you have to lose? Write down at least 50 things you want to achieve in your lifetime. I understand that there will only be a few of you that will do this so go to my website at stulynn.com and comment with your name and email and I’ll send you something free.

GOALS challenge – Day One

This week I am going to share with you something that is talked about a lot but very few people put it into action. It’s on the topic of goals.  The first thing you must understand is that nothing becomes dynamic until it becomes specific. If you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it. You must be specific when thinking of your goals:

  • What would you do if money wasn’t an object?
  • What would you do if you couldn’t fail?
  • What vacation would you like to take?
  • What charities would you give to?
  • What college would you like to send you kids to, without having them incur tens of thousands of dollars of debt?

Ask yourself these questions and think about it. Find a quiet place today and spend 30 minutes thinking about what some of those answers might be.  This week I am going to strategically show you how to not only make some specific goals but also how to achieve them.

Rich Man/Poor Man

This week I am sharing with you some of my favorite stories I have collected through the years.

One day a father and his rich family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night on the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“Very good Dad!” replied the son.

“Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked.

“Yeah!”

“And what did you learn?”

The son answered, “I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard; they have a whole horizon.” When the little boy was finished, his father was speechless. His son added, “Thanks, Dad, for showing me how ‘poor’ we are!”

There is something there for all of us to learn.  Have a great weekend.

Are we willing to give all to those we love?

This week I am sharing with you some of my favorite stories I have collected through the years.

There was a story of a little girl named Liza who was suffering from a disease and needed blood from her five-year-old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. He hesitated for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying,

“Yes, I’ll do it if it will save Liza.”

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, “Will I start to die right away?” Being young, the boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give her all his blood and yet he was willing to do just that.

Things aren’t always what they seem.

This week I am sharing with you some of my favorite stories I have collected through the years.

ice cream Things arent always what they seem.A young boy entered an ice cream shop many years ago. “How much is an ice cream sundae?” the little boy asked.

“Fifty cents,” replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins he had. “Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?” he inquired.

By now, more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing very impatient. “Thirty-five cents,” she brusquely replied. The little boy carefully counted his coins again as the waitress rolled her eyes.

“I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry. As she wiped down the table, there placed neatly beside the empty dish were two nickels and five pennies. You see, he couldn’t have the sundae because he had to have enough money to leave her a tip.

Struggle is GOOD!

This week I am sharing with you some of my favorite stories I have collected through the years. Today’s is about a butterfly.

butterflywings Struggle is GOOD!

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole. Then it stopped, as if it couldn’t go further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily but it had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch it and saw the fact that the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around. It was never able to fly. What the man did not understand was this: The restricting cocoon and the struggle to get through the opening was a way of forcing the fluid from the body into the wings so that it would be ready for flight.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. Going through life with no obstacles would cripple us. We will not be as strong as we could have been and we would never fly.
